1 Now Peter and John were going up into the temple at the hour of prayer, the ninth. 2 And a certain man was being carried, being lame from his mother’s womb, whom they placed every day at the temple gate called Beautiful to ask for alms from those going into the temple, 3 who, having seen Peter and John being about to enter into the temple, was asking to receive alms. 4 And Peter, having looked intently upon him, with John, said, “Look toward us!” 5 And he began to give heed to them, expecting to receive something from them. 6 But Peter said, “Silver and gold, unto me there is none; but what I have, this I give to you: In the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, rise up and walk!” 7 And having taken him by the right hand, he raised him up, and immediately his feet and ankles were strengthened. 8 And leaping up, he stood and began walking, and he entered into the temple with them, walking and leaping and praising God. 9 And all the people saw him walking and praising God, 10 and they recognized him, that he was the one sitting for alms at the Beautiful Gate of the temple. And they were filled with wonder and amazement at that having happened to him. Acts 3:1-10, Berean Literal Bible. Public domain.
