13 formerly being a blasphemer, and a persecutor, and insolent; but I was shown mercy, because, being ignorant, I did it in unbelief. 14 And the grace of our Lord exceedingly abounded with the faith and love that are in Christ Jesus. 15 Trustworthy is the word, and worthy of all acceptance, that Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners, of whom I am the foremost. 16 But because of this I was shown mercy, so that in me, the foremost, Christ Jesus might display all patience, as a pattern for those being about to believe on Him unto eternal life. 17 Now to the King of the ages, the immortal, invisible, the only God, be honor and glory to the ages of the ages! Amen. 18 I commit to you this charge, Timothy my child, according to the prophecies upon you going before, so that by them you may wage the good warfare, 19 having faith and a good conscience, which some having thrust away, made a shipwreck concerning the faith, 20 of whom are Hymenaeus and Alexander, whom I handed over to Satan so that they should be disciplined not to blaspheme. 1 Timothy 1:13-20, Berean Literal Bible.
