4 And whenever the day came for Elkanah (God has possessed) to present his sacrifice, he would give portions to his wife Peninnah (jewel) and to all her sons and daughters. 5 But to Hannah (grace) he would give a double portion (a choice portion), for he loved her even though the LORD {YHWH} had closed her womb. 6 Because the LORD {YHWH} had closed Hannah’s womb, her rival would provoke her viciously to taunt her. 1 Samuel 1:4-6, Berean Annotated Bible.
