I am a rose of Sharon, A lily of the valleys. I am a rose of Sharon, a lily of the valleys. I am a rose of Sharon, a lily of the valleys.
As a lily among thorns, So is my love among the daughters. As a lily among brambles, so is my love among the young women. Like a lily among thorns is my darling among the young women.
As an apple-tree among the trees of the wood, So is my beloved among the sons. Under its shadow I delighted to sit, And its fruit was sweet to my taste. As an apple tree among the trees of the forest, so is my beloved among the young men. With great delight I sat in his shadow, and his fruit was sweet to my taste. Like an apple tree among the trees of the forest is my beloved among the young men. I delight to sit in his shade, and his fruit is sweet to my taste.
He hath brought me to the banqueting-house, And his banner over me is love. He brought me to the banqueting house, and his banner over me was love. Let him lead me to the banquet hall, and let his banner over me be love.
Stay ye me with dainties, refresh me with apples; For I am love-sick.' Sustain me with raisins; refresh me with apples, for I am sick with love. Strengthen me with raisins, refresh me with apples, for I am faint with love.
Let his left hand be under my head, And his right hand embrace me. His left hand is under my head, and his right hand embraces me! His left arm is under my head, and his right arm embraces me.
I adjure you, O daughters of Jerusalem, By the gazelles, and by the hinds of the field, That ye awaken not, nor stir up love, until it please.' I adjure you, O daughters of Jerusalem, by the gazelles or the does of the field, that you not stir up or awaken love until it pleases. Daughters of Jerusalem, I charge you by the gazelles and by the does of the field: Do not arouse or awaken love until it so desires.
Hark! my beloved! behold, he cometh, Leaping upon the mountains, skipping upon the hills. The voice of my beloved! Behold, he comes, leaping over the mountains, bounding over the hills. Listen! My beloved! Look! Here he comes, leaping across the mountains, bounding over the hills.
My beloved is like a gazelle or a young hart; Behold, he standeth behind our wall, He looketh in through the windows, He peereth through the lattice. My beloved is like a gazelle or a young stag. Behold, there he stands behind our wall, gazing through the windows, looking through the lattice. My beloved is like a gazelle or a young stag. Look! There he stands behind our wall, gazing through the windows, peering through the lattice.
My beloved spoke, and said unto me: 'Rise up, my love, my fair one, and come away. My beloved speaks and says to me: “Arise, my love, my beautiful one, and come away, My beloved spoke and said to me, “Arise, my darling, my beautiful one, come with me.
For, lo, the winter is past, The rain is over and gone; for behold, the winter is past; the rain is over and gone. See! The winter is past; the rains are over and gone.
The flowers appear on the earth; The time of singing is come, And the voice of the turtle is heard in our land; The flowers appear on the earth, the time of singing has come, and the voice of the turtledove is heard in our land. Flowers appear on the earth; the season of singing has come, the cooing of doves is heard in our land.
The fig-tree putteth forth her green figs, And the vines in blossom give forth their fragrance. Arise, my love, my fair one, and come away. The fig tree ripens its figs, and the vines are in blossom; they give forth fragrance. Arise, my love, my beautiful one, and come away. The fig tree forms its early fruit; the blossoming vines spread their fragrance. Arise, come, my darling; my beautiful one, come with me.”
O my dove, that art in the clefts of the rock, in the covert of the cliff, Let me see thy countenance, let me hear thy voice; For sweet is thy voice, and thy countenance is comely.' O my dove, in the clefts of the rock, in the crannies of the cliff, let me see your face, let me hear your voice, for your voice is sweet, and your face is lovely. My dove in the clefts of the rock, in the hiding places on the mountainside, show me your face, let me hear your voice; for your voice is sweet, and your face is lovely.
Take us the foxes, the little foxes, that spoil the vineyards; For our vineyards are in blossom.' Catch the foxes for us, the little foxes that spoil the vineyards, for our vineyards are in blossom.” Catch for us the foxes, the little foxes that ruin the vineyards, our vineyards that are in bloom.
My beloved is mine, and I am his, That feedeth among the lilies. My beloved is mine, and I am his; he grazes among the lilies. My beloved is mine and I am his; he browses among the lilies.
Until the day breathe, and the shadows flee away, Turn, my beloved, and be thou like a gazelle or a young hart Upon the mountains of spices. Until the day breathes and the shadows flee, turn, my beloved, be like a gazelle or a young stag on cleft mountains. Until the day breaks and the shadows flee, turn, my beloved, and be like a gazelle or like a young stag on the rugged hills.
