1	For the choirmaster. To the tune of “Do Not Destroy.” A Miktam of David. Do you indeed speak justly, O rulers? Do you judge uprightly, O sons of men?	Do you indeed decree what is right, you gods? Do you judge the children of man uprightly?	For the director of music. To the tune of “Do Not Destroy.” Of David. A miktam. Do you rulers indeed speak justly? Do you judge people with equity?
2	No, in your hearts you devise injustice; with your hands you mete out violence on the earth.	No, in your hearts you devise wrongs; your hands deal out violence on earth.	No, in your heart you devise injustice, and your hands mete out violence on the earth.
3	The wicked are estranged from the womb; the liars go astray from birth.	The wicked are estranged from the womb; they go astray from birth, speaking lies.	Even from birth the wicked go astray; from the womb they are wayward, spreading lies.
4	Their venom is like the venom of a snake, like a cobra that shuts its ears,	They have venom like the venom of a serpent, like the deaf adder that stops its ear,	Their venom is like the venom of a snake, like that of a cobra that has stopped its ears,
5	refusing to hear the tune of the charmer who skillfully weaves his spell.	so that it does not hear the voice of charmers or of the cunning enchanter.	that will not heed the tune of the charmer, however skillful the enchanter may be.
