1	For the choirmaster. According to Mahalath. A Maskil of David. The fool says in his heart, “There is no God.” They are corrupt; their ways are vile. There is no one who does good. The fool says in his heart, “There is no God.” They are corrupt, and their ways are vile; there is no one who does good.
2	God looks down from heaven upon the sons of men to see if any understand, if any seek God.	God looks down from heaven on the children of man to see if there are any who understand, who seek after God.	God looks down from heaven on all mankind to see if there are any who understand, any who seek God.
3	All have turned away, they have together become corrupt; there is no one who does good, not even one.	They have all fallen away; together they have become corrupt; there is none who does good, not even one.	Everyone has turned away, all have become corrupt; there is no one who does good, not even one.
4	Will the workers of iniquity never learn? They devour my people like bread; they refuse to call upon God.	Have those who work evil no knowledge, who eat up my people as they eat bread, and do not call upon God?	Do all these evildoers know nothing? They devour my people as though eating bread; they never call on God.
5	There they are, overwhelmed with dread, where there was nothing to fear. For God has scattered the bones of those who besieged you. You put them to shame, for God has despised them.	There they are, in great terror, where there is no terror! For God scatters the bones of him who encamps against you; you put them to shame, for God has rejected them. 6	Oh, that the salvation of Israel would come from Zion! When God restores His captive people, let Jacob rejoice, let Israel be glad!	Oh, that salvation for Israel would come out of Zion! When God restores the fortunes of his people, let Jacob rejoice, let Israel be glad.	Oh, that salvation for Israel would come out of Zion! When God restores his people, let Jacob rejoice and Israel be glad!
