<V 146:1>Alleluia. Praise the Lord, because the psalm is good. Delightful and beautiful praise shall be for our God. Praise the LORD! For it is good to sing praises to our God; for it is pleasant, and a song of praise is fitting. Praise the LORD. How good it is to sing praises to our God, how pleasant and fitting to praise him!
<V 146:2>The Lord builds up Jerusalem. He will gather together the dispersed of Israel. The LORD builds up Jerusalem; he gathers the outcasts of Israel. The LORD builds up Jerusalem; he gathers the exiles of Israel.
<V 146:3>He heals the contrite of heart, and he binds up their sorrows. He heals the brokenhearted and binds up their wounds. He heals the brokenhearted and binds up their wounds.
<V 146:4>He numbers the multitude of the stars, and he calls them all by their names. He determines the number of the stars; he gives to all of them their names. He determines the number of the stars and calls them each by name.
<V 146:5>Great is our Lord, and great is his virtue. And of his wisdom, there is no number. Great is our Lord, and abundant in power; his understanding is beyond measure. Great is our Lord and mighty in power; his understanding has no limit.
<V 146:6>The Lord lifts up the meek, but he brings down the sinner, even to the ground. The LORD lifts up the humble; he casts the wicked to the ground. The LORD sustains the humble but casts the wicked to the ground.
<V 146:7>Sing before the Lord with confession. Play psalms to our God on a stringed instrument. Sing to the LORD with thanksgiving; make melody to our God on the lyre! Sing to the LORD with grateful praise; make music to our God on the harp.
<V 146:8>He covers heaven with clouds, and he prepares rain for the earth. He produces grass on the mountains and herbs for the service of men. He covers the heavens with clouds; he prepares rain for the earth; he makes grass grow on the hills. He covers the sky with clouds; he supplies the earth with rain and makes grass grow on the hills.
<V 146:9>He gives their food to beasts of burden and to young ravens that call upon him. He gives to the beasts their food, and to the young ravens that cry. He provides food for the cattle and for the young ravens when they call.
<V 146:10>He will not have good will for the strength of the horse, nor will he be well pleased with the legs of a man. His delight is not in the strength of the horse, nor his pleasure in the legs of a man, His pleasure is not in the strength of the horse, nor his delight in the legs of the warrior;
<V 146:11>The Lord is well pleased with those who fear him and with those who hope in his mercy. but the LORD takes pleasure in those who fear him, in those who hope in his steadfast love. the LORD delights in those who fear him, who put their hope in his unfailing love.
<V 147:1>Alleluia. Praise the Lord, O Jerusalem. Praise your God, O Zion. Praise the LORD, O Jerusalem! Praise your God, O Zion! Extol the LORD, Jerusalem; praise your God, Zion.
<V 147:2>For he has reinforced the bars of your gates. He has blessed your sons within you. For he strengthens the bars of your gates; he blesses your children within you. He strengthens the bars of your gates and blesses your people within you.
<V 147:3>He has stationed peace at your borders, and he has satisfied you with the fat of the grain. He makes peace in your borders; he fills you with the finest of the wheat. He grants peace to your borders and satisfies you with the finest of wheat.
<V 147:4>He sends forth his eloquence to the earth. His word runs swiftly. He sends out his command to the earth; his word runs swiftly. He sends his command to the earth; his word runs swiftly.
<V 147:5>He provides snow like wool. He strews clouds like ashes. He gives snow like wool; he scatters frost like ashes. He spreads the snow like wool and scatters the frost like ashes.
<V 147:6>He sends his ice crystals like morsels. Who can stand firm before the face of his cold? He hurls down his crystals of ice like crumbs; who can stand before his cold? He hurls down his hail like pebbles. Who can withstand his icy blast?
<V 147:7>He will send forth his word, and it will melt them. His Spirit will breathe out, and the waters will flow. He sends out his word, and melts them; he makes his wind blow and the waters flow. He sends his word and melts them; he stirs up his breezes, and the waters flow.
<V 147:8>He announces his word to Jacob, his justices and his judgments to Israel. He declares his word to Jacob, his statutes and rules to Israel. He has revealed his word to Jacob, his laws and decrees to Israel.
<V 147:9>He has not done so much for every nation, and he has not made his judgments manifest to them. Alleluia. He has not dealt thus with any other nation; they do not know his rules. Praise the LORD! He has done this for no other nation; they do not know his laws. Praise the LORD.
