1 Lord, my heart is not exalted: nor are my eyes lofty. Neither have I walked in great matters, nor in wonderful things above me. O LORD, my heart is not lifted up; my eyes are not raised too high; I do not occupy myself with things too great and too marvelous for me. A song of ascents. Of David. My heart is not proud, LORD, my eyes are not haughty; I do not concern myself with great matters or things too wonderful for me.
2 If I was not humbly minded, but exalted my soul: As a child that is weaned is towards his mother, so reward in my soul. But I have calmed and quieted my soul, like a weaned child with its mother; like a weaned child is my soul within me. But I have calmed and quieted myself, I am like a weaned child with its mother; like a weaned child I am content.
3 Let Israel hope in the Lord, from henceforth now and for ever. O Israel, hope in the LORD from this time forth and forevermore. Israel, put your hope in the LORD both now and forevermore.
