1 For the music director; a psalm of David. How long, LORD, will you continue to ignore me? How long will you pay no attention to me? How long, O LORD? Will you forget me forever? How long will you hide your face from me? For the director of music. A psalm of David. How long, LORD? Will you forget me forever? How long will you hide your face from me?
2 How long must I worry, and suffer in broad daylight? How long will my enemy gloat over me? How long must I take counsel in my soul and have sorrow in my heart all the day? How long shall my enemy be exalted over me? How long must I wrestle with my thoughts and day after day have sorrow in my heart? How long will my enemy triumph over me?
3 Look at me! Answer me, O LORD my God! Revive me, or else I will die! Consider and answer me, O LORD my God; light up my eyes, lest I sleep the sleep of death, Look on me and answer, LORD my God. Give light to my eyes, or I will sleep in death,
4 Then my enemy will say, |I have defeated him!| Then my foes will rejoice because I am upended. lest my enemy say, “I have prevailed over him,” lest my foes rejoice because I am shaken. and my enemy will say, “I have overcome him,” and my foes will rejoice when I fall.
5 But I trust in your faithfulness. May I rejoice because of your deliverance! But I have trusted in your steadfast love; my heart shall rejoice in your salvation. But I trust in your unfailing love; my heart rejoices in your salvation.
6 I will sing praises to the LORD when he vindicates me. I will sing to the LORD, because he has dealt bountifully with me. I will sing the LORD’s praise, for he has been good to me.
