For the choir director. A psalm of David. How long, LORD? Will you forget me forever? How long will you hide your face from me? How long, O LORD? Will you forget me forever? How long will you hide your face from me? For the director of music. A psalm of David. How long, LORD? Will you forget me forever? How long will you hide your face from me?
How long will I store up anxious concerns within me, agony in my mind every day? How long will my enemy dominate me? How long must I take counsel in my soul and have sorrow in my heart all the day? How long shall my enemy be exalted over me? How long must I wrestle with my thoughts and day after day have sorrow in my heart? How long will my enemy triumph over me?
Consider me and answer, LORD my God. Restore brightness to my eyes; otherwise, I will sleep in death. Consider and answer me, O LORD my God; light up my eyes, lest I sleep the sleep of death, Look on me and answer, LORD my God. Give light to my eyes, or I will sleep in death,
My enemy will say, “I have triumphed over him,” and my foes will rejoice because I am shaken. lest my enemy say, “I have prevailed over him,” lest my foes rejoice because I am shaken. and my enemy will say, “I have overcome him,” and my foes will rejoice when I fall.
But I have trusted in your faithful love; my heart will rejoice in your deliverance. But I have trusted in your steadfast love; my heart shall rejoice in your salvation. But I trust in your unfailing love; my heart rejoices in your salvation.
I will sing to the LORD because he has treated me generously. I will sing to the LORD, because he has dealt bountifully with me. I will sing the LORD’s praise, for he has been good to me.
