<V 12:1>Unto the end. A Psalm of David. How long, O Lord? Will you forget me until the end? How long will you turn your face away from me? How long, O LORD? Will you forget me forever? How long will you hide your face from me? For the director of music. A psalm of David. How long, LORD? Will you forget me forever? How long will you hide your face from me?
<V 12:2>How long can I take counsel in my soul, sorrowing in my heart throughout the day? How long must I take counsel in my soul and have sorrow in my heart all the day? How long shall my enemy be exalted over me? How long must I wrestle with my thoughts and day after day have sorrow in my heart? How long will my enemy triumph over me?
<V 12:3>How long will my enemy be exalted over me? Consider and answer me, O LORD my God; light up my eyes, lest I sleep the sleep of death, Look on me and answer, LORD my God. Give light to my eyes, or I will sleep in death,
<V 12:4>Look upon me and listen to me, O Lord my God. Enlighten my eyes, lest I fall asleep forever in death, lest my enemy say, “I have prevailed over him,” lest my foes rejoice because I am shaken. and my enemy will say, “I have overcome him,” and my foes will rejoice when I fall.
<V 12:5>lest at any time my enemy may say, “I have prevailed against him.” Those who trouble me will exult, if I have been disturbed. But I have trusted in your steadfast love; my heart shall rejoice in your salvation. But I trust in your unfailing love; my heart rejoices in your salvation.
<V 12:6>But I have hoped in your mercy. My heart will exult in your salvation. I will sing to the Lord, who assigns good things to me. And I will sing psalms to the name of the Lord Most High. I will sing to the LORD, because he has dealt bountifully with me. I will sing the LORD’s praise, for he has been good to me.
