A psalm for David himself. Mercy and judgment I will sing to thee, O Lord: I will sing, I will sing of steadfast love and justice; to you, O LORD, I will make music. Of David. A psalm. I will sing of your love and justice; to you, LORD, I will sing praise.
and I will understand in the unspotted way, when thou shalt come to me. I walked in the innocence of my heart, in the midst of my house. I will ponder the way that is blameless. Oh when will you come to me? I will walk with integrity of heart within my house; I will be careful to lead a blameless life— when will you come to me? I will conduct the affairs of my house with a blameless heart.
I did not set before my eyes any unjust thing: I hated the workers of iniquities. I will not set before my eyes anything that is worthless. I hate the work of those who fall away; it shall not cling to me. I will not look with approval on anything that is vile. I hate what faithless people do; I will have no part in it.
The perverse heart did not cleave to me: and the malignant, that turned aside from me, I would not know. A perverse heart shall be far from me; I will know nothing of evil. The perverse of heart shall be far from me; I will have nothing to do with what is evil.
The man that in private detracted his neighbour, him did I persecute. With him that had a proud eye, and an unsatiable heart, I would not eat. Whoever slanders his neighbor secretly I will destroy. Whoever has a haughty look and an arrogant heart I will not endure. Whoever slanders their neighbor in secret, I will put to silence; whoever has haughty eyes and a proud heart, I will not tolerate.
My eyes were upon the faithful of the earth, to sit with me: the man that walked in the perfect way, he served me. I will look with favor on the faithful in the land, that they may dwell with me; he who walks in the way that is blameless shall minister to me. My eyes will be on the faithful in the land, that they may dwell with me; the one whose walk is blameless will minister to me.
He that worketh pride shall not dwell in the midst of my house: he that speaketh unjust things did not prosper before my eyes. No one who practices deceit shall dwell in my house; no one who utters lies shall continue before my eyes. No one who practices deceit will dwell in my house; no one who speaks falsely will stand in my presence.
In the morning I put to death all the wicked of the land: that I might cut off all the workers of iniquity from the city of the Lord. Morning by morning I will destroy all the wicked in the land, cutting off all the evildoers from the city of the LORD. Every morning I will put to silence all the wicked in the land; I will cut off every evildoer from the city of the LORD.
