3 “Listen! Behold, the farmer went out to sow. “Listen! Behold, a sower went out to sow. “Listen! A farmer went out to sow his seed.
4 As he sowed, some seed fell by the road, and the birds came and devoured it. And as he sowed, some seed fell along the path, and the birds came and devoured it. As he was scattering the seed, some fell along the path, and the birds came and ate it up.
5 Others fell on the rocky ground, where it had little soil, and immediately it sprang up, because it had no depth of soil. It sprang up quickly, because the soil was shallow.

7 Others fell among the thorns, and the thorns grew up and choked it, and it yielded no fruit. Other seed fell among thorns, and the thorns grew up and choked it, and it yielded no grain. Other seed fell among thorns, which grew up and choked the plants, so that they did not bear grain.
8 Others fell into the good ground and yielded fruit, growing up and increasing. Some produced thirty times, some sixty times, and some one hundred times as much.” And other seeds fell into good soil and produced grain, growing up and increasing and yielding thirtyfold and sixtyfold and a hundredfold.” Still other seed fell on good soil. It came up, grew and produced a crop, some multiplying thirty, some sixty, some a hundred times.”
9 He said, “Whoever has ears to hear, let him hear.” And he said, “He who has ears to hear, let him hear.” Then Jesus said, “Whoever has ears to hear, let them hear.”
