| 41 | Καὶ καθίσας κατέναντι τοῦ γαζοφυλακίου ἐθεώρει πῶς ὁ ὄχλος βάλλει χαλκὸν εἰς τὸ γαζοφυλάκιον καὶ πολλοὶ πλούσιοι ἔβαλλον πολλά | And he sat down opposite the treasury and watched the people putting money into the offering box. Many rich people put in large sums. | Jesus sat down opposite the place where the offerings were put and watched the crowd putting their money into the temple treasury. Many rich people threw in large amounts. | |
| 42 | καὶ ἐλθοῦσα μία χήρα πτωχὴ ἔβαλεν λεπτὰ δύο ὅ ἐστιν κοδράντης | And a poor widow came and put in two small copper coins, which make a penny. | But a poor widow came and put in two very small copper coins, worth only a few cents. | |
