2	And having come, the Pharisees were questioning Him whether it is lawful for a husband to send away a wife—testing Him.	And Pharisees came up and in order to test him asked, “Is it lawful for a man to divorce his wife?”	Some Pharisees came and tested him by asking, “Is it lawful for a man to divorce his wife?”
3	And answering, He said to them, “What did Moses command you⁺?”	He answered them, “What did Moses command you?”	“What did Moses command you?” he replied.
4	And they said, “Moses allowed us to write a roll of divorce and to send her away.”	They said, “Moses allowed a man to write a certificate of divorce and to send her away.”	They said, “Moses permitted a man to write a certificate of divorce and send her away.”
5	But Jesus said to them, “For your⁺ hardness of heart he wrote you⁺ this commandment;	And Jesus said to them, “Because of your hardness of heart he wrote you this commandment.	“It was because your hearts were hard that Moses wrote you this law,” Jesus replied.
6	but from the beginning of creation, ‘He made them male and female.’	But from the beginning of creation, ‘God made them male and female.’	“But at the beginning of creation God ‘made them male and female.’
7	‘On account of this a man will leave his father and mother and be joined to his wife,	‘Therefore a man shall leave his father and mother and hold fast to his wife,	For this reason a man will leave his father and mother and be united to his wife,
8	and the two will be for one flesh,’ so that they are no longer two, but one flesh.	and the two shall become one flesh.’ So they are no longer two but one flesh.	and the two will become one flesh.’ So they are no longer two, but one flesh.
9	Therefore what God has yoked together, let man not separate.”	What therefore God has joined together, let not man separate.”	Therefore what God has joined together, let no one separate.”
