4	So he ran on ahead and climbed a sycamore tree to see Him, since Jesus was about to pass that way. 8	But Zacchaeus stood up and said to the Lord, “Look, Lord, half of my possessions I give to the poor, and if I have cheated anyone, I will repay it fourfold.	And Zacchaeus stood and said to the Lord, “Behold, Lord, the half of my goods I give to the poor. And if I have defrauded anyone of anything, I restore it fourfold.”	And Zacchaeus stood, and said unto the Lord; Behold, Lord, the half of my goods I give to the poor; and if I have taken any thing from any man by false accusation, I restore <i>him</i> fourfold.	But Zaccheus stopped and said to the Lord, “Behold, Lord, half of my possessions I am giving to the poor, and if I have extorted anything from anyone, I am giving back four times as much.”	But Zacchaeus stood up and said to the Lord, “Look, Lord! Here and now I give half of my possessions to the poor, and if I have cheated anybody out of anything, I will pay back four times the amount.”
9	Jesus said to him, “Today salvation has come to this house, because this man too is a son of Abraham.	And Jesus said to him, “Today salvation has come to this house, since he also is a son of Abraham.	And Jesus said unto him, This day is salvation come to this house, forsomuch as he also is a son of Abraham.	And Jesus said to him, “Today salvation has come to this house, because he, too, is a son of Abraham. And he called ten of his own slaves and gave them ten minas, and said to them, ‘Do business <i>with this money</i> until I come <i>back.</i>’	So he called ten of his servants and gave them ten minas. ‘Put this money to work,’ he said, ‘until I come back.’
14	But his subjects hated him and sent a delegation after him to say, ‘We do not want this man to rule over us.	But his citizens hated him and sent a delegation after him, saying, ‘We do not want this man to reign over us.’	But his citizens hated him, and sent a message after him, saying, We will not have this <i>man</i> to reign over us.	But his citizens hated him and sent a delegation after him, saying, ‘We do not want this man to reign over us.’	“But his subjects hated him and sent a delegation after him to say, ‘We don’t want this man to be our king.’
15	When he returned from procuring his kingship, he summoned the servants to whom he had given the money, to find out what each one had earned.	When he returned, having received the kingdom, he ordered these servants to whom he had given the money to be called to him, that he might know what they had gained by doing business.	And it came to pass, that when he was returned, having received the kingdom, then he commanded these servants to be called unto him, to whom he had given the money, that he might know how much every man had gained by trading.	When he returned after receiving the kingdom, he ordered that these slaves, to whom he had given the money, be summoned to him so that he would learn how much they had made by the business they had done.	“He was made king, however, and returned home. Then he sent for the servants to whom he had given the money, in order to find out what they had gained with it.
16	The first servant came forward and said, ‘Master, your mina has produced ten more minas.	The first came before him, saying, ‘Lord, your mina has made ten minas more.’	Then came the first, saying, Lord, thy pound hath gained ten pounds.	The first <i>slave</i> appeared, saying, ‘Master, your mina has made ten minas more.’	“The first one came and said, ‘Sir, your mina has earned ten more.’
17	His master replied, ‘Well done, good servant! Because you have been faithful in a very small matter, you shall have authority over ten cities.	And he said to him, ‘Well done, good servant! Because you have been faithful in a very little, you shall have authority over ten cities.’	And he said unto him, Well, thou good servant: because thou hast been faithful in a very little, have thou authority over ten cities.	And he said to him, ‘Well done, good slave; since you have been faithful in a very little thing, you are to have authority over ten cities.’	“’Well done, my good servant!’ his master replied. ‘Because you have been trustworthy in a very small matter, take charge of ten cities.’
18	The second servant came and said, ‘Master, your mina has made five minas.	And the second came, saying, ‘Lord, your mina has made five minas.’	And the second came, saying, Lord, thy pound hath gained five pounds.	The second one came, saying, ‘Your mina, master, has made five minas.’	“The second came and said, ‘Sir, your mina has earned five more.’
19	And to this one he said, ‘You shall have authority over five cities.	And he said to him, ‘And you are to be over five cities.’	And he said likewise to him, Be thou also over five cities.	And he said to him also, ‘And you are to be over five cities.’	“His master answered, ‘You take charge of five cities.’
20	Then another servant came and said, ‘Master, here is your mina, which I have laid away in a piece of cloth.	Then another came, saying, ‘Lord, here is your mina, which I kept laid away in a handkerchief;	And another came, saying, Lord, behold, <i>here is</i> thy pound, which I have kept laid up in a napkin:	And <i>then</i> another came, saying, ‘Master, here is your mina, which I kept tucked away in a handkerchief;	“Then another servant came and said, ‘Sir, here is your mina; I have kept it laid away in a piece of cloth.
21	For I was afraid of you, because you are a harsh man. You withdraw what you did not deposit and reap what you did not sow.	for I was afraid of you, because you are a severe man. You take what you did not deposit, and reap what you did not sow.’	For I feared thee, because thou art an austere man: thou takest up that thou layedst not down, and reapest that thou didst not sow.	for I was afraid of you, because you are a demanding man; you take up what you did not lay down, and reap what you did not sow.’	I was afraid of you, because you are a hard man. You take out what you did not put in and reap what you did not sow.’
22	His master replied, ‘You wicked servant, I will judge you by your own words. So you knew that I am a harsh man, withdrawing what I did not deposit and reaping what I did not sow?	He said to him, ‘I will condemn you with your own words, you wicked servant! You knew that I was a severe man, taking what I did not deposit and reaping what I did not sow?	And he saith unto him, Out of thine own mouth will I judge thee, <i>thou</i> wicked servant. Thou knewest that I was an austere man, taking up that I laid not down, and reaping that I did not sow:	He said to him, ‘From your own lips I will judge you, you worthless slave. Did you know that I am a demanding man, taking up what I did not lay down, and reaping what I did not sow?	“His master replied, ‘I will judge you by your own words, you wicked servant! You knew, did you, that I am a hard man, taking out what I did not put in, and reaping what I did not sow?
23	Why then did you not deposit my money in the bank, and upon my return I could have collected it with interest?	Why then did you not put my money in the bank, and at my coming I might have collected it with interest?’	Wherefore then gavest not thou my money into the bank, that at my coming I might have required mine own with usury?	And <i>so</i> why did you not put my money in the bank, and when I came <i>back,</i> I would have collected it with interest?’	Why then didn’t you put my money on deposit, so that when I came back, I could have collected it with interest?’
24	Then he told those standing by, ‘Take the mina from him and give it to the one who has ten minas.	And he said to those who stood by, ‘Take the mina from him, and give it to the one who has the ten minas.’	And he said unto them that stood by, Take from him the pound, and give <i>it</i> to him that hath ten pounds.	And <i>then</i> he said to the <i>other slaves</i> who were present, ‘Take the mina away from him and give it to the one who has the ten minas.’	“Then he said to those standing by, ‘Take his mina away from him and give it to the one who has ten minas.’
25	‘Master, they said, ‘he already has ten!	And they said to him, ‘Lord, he has ten minas!’	(And they said unto him, Lord, he hath ten pounds.)	And they said to him, ‘Master, he <i>already</i> has ten minas.’	“’Sir,’ they said, ‘he already has ten!’
26	He replied, ‘I tell you that everyone who has will be given more; but the one who does not have, even what he has will be taken away from him.	‘I tell you that to everyone who has, more will be given, but from the one who has not, even what he has will be taken away.	For I say unto you, That unto every one which hath shall be given; and from him that hath not, even that he hath shall be taken away from him.	‘I tell you that to everyone who has, <i>more</i> shall be given, but from the one who does not have, even what he does have shall be taken away.	“He replied, ‘I tell you that to everyone who has, more will be given, but as for the one who has nothing, even what they have will be taken away.
27	And these enemies of mine who were unwilling for me to rule over them, bring them here and slay them in front of me.	But as for these enemies of mine, who did not want me to reign over them, bring them here and slaughter them before me.’”	But those mine enemies, which would not that I should reign over them, bring hither, and slay <i>them</i> before me.	But as for these enemies of mine who did not want me to reign over them, bring <i>them</i> here and slaughter them in my presence.’”	But those enemies of mine who did not want me to be king over them—bring them here and kill them in front of me.’”
28	After Jesus had said this, He went on ahead, going up to Jerusalem.	And when he had said these things, he went on ahead, going up to Jerusalem. 30	saying, “Go into the village ahead of you, and as you enter it, you will find a colt tied there, on which no one has ever sat. 31	If anyone asks, ‘Why are you untying it?’ tell him, ‘The Lord needs it.	If anyone asks you, ‘Why are you untying it?’ you shall say this: ‘The Lord has need of it.’”	And if any man ask you, Why do ye loose <i>him</i>? thus shall ye say unto him, Because the Lord hath need of him.	And if anyone asks you, ‘Why are you untying <i>it?</i>’ you shall say this: ‘The Lord has need of it.’”	If anyone asks you, ‘Why are you untying it?’ say, ‘The Lord needs it.’”
32	So those who were sent went out and found it just as Jesus had told them.	So those who were sent went away and found it just as he had told them.	And they that were sent went their way, and found even as he had said unto them.	So those who were sent left and found <i>it</i> just as He had told them.	Those who were sent ahead went and found it just as he had told them.
33	As they were untying the colt, its owners asked, “Why are you untying the colt?	And as they were untying the colt, its owners said to them, “Why are you untying the colt?”	And as they were loosing the colt, the owners thereof said unto them, Why loose ye the colt?	And as they were untying the colt, its owners said to them, “Why are you untying the colt?”	As they were untying the colt, its owners asked them, “Why are you untying the colt?”
34	“The Lord needs it, they answered.	And they said, “The Lord has need of it.”	And they said, The Lord hath need of him.	They said, “The Lord has need of it.”	They replied, “The Lord needs it.”
35	Then they led the colt to Jesus, threw their cloaks over it, and put Jesus on it.	And they brought it to Jesus, and throwing their cloaks on the colt, they set Jesus on it.	And they brought him to Jesus: and they cast their garments upon the colt, and they set Jesus thereon.	And they brought it to Jesus, and they threw their cloaks on the colt and put Jesus <i>on it.</i>	They brought it to Jesus, threw their cloaks on the colt and put Jesus on it.

38	“Blessed is the King who comes in the name of the Lord!” “Peace in heaven and glory in the highest!”	saying, “Blessed is the King who comes in the name of the Lord! Peace in heaven and glory in the highest!”	Saying, Blessed <i>be</i> the King that cometh in the name of the Lord: peace in heaven, and glory in the highest.	shouting: “BLESSED IS the King, THE ONE WHO COMES IN THE NAME OF THE LORD; Peace in heaven and glory in the highest!”	“Blessed is the king who comes in the name of the Lord!” “Peace in heaven and glory in the highest!”
39	But some of the Pharisees in the crowd said to Him, “Teacher, rebuke Your disciples!	And some of the Pharisees in the crowd said to him, “Teacher, rebuke your disciples.”	And some of the Pharisees from among the multitude said unto him, Master, rebuke thy disciples. 40	“I tell you, He answered, “if they remain silent, the very stones will cry out.	He answered, “I tell you, if these were silent, the very stones would cry out.”	And he answered and said unto them, I tell you that, if these should hold their peace, the stones would immediately cry out.	Jesus replied, “I tell you, if these stop speaking, the stones will cry out!”	“I tell you,” he replied, “if they keep quiet, the stones will cry out.”
41	As Jesus approached Jerusalem and saw the city, He wept over it	And when he drew near and saw the city, he wept over it,	And when he was come near, he beheld the city, and wept over it,	When He approached <i>Jerusalem,</i> He saw the city and wept over it,	As he approached Jerusalem and saw the city, he wept over it
42	and said, “If only you had known on this day what would bring you peace! But now it is hidden from your eyes.	saying, “Would that you, even you, had known on this day the things that make for peace! But now they are hidden from your eyes.	Saying, If thou hadst known, even thou, at least in this thy day, the things <i>which belong</i> unto thy peace! but now they are hid from thine eyes.	saying, “If you had known on this day, even you, the <i>conditions</i> for peace! But now they have been hidden from your eyes.	and said, “If you, even you, had only known on this day what would bring you peace—but now it is hidden from your eyes.
43	For the days will come upon you when your enemies will barricade you and surround you and hem you in on every side.	For the days will come upon you, when your enemies will set up a barricade around you and surround you and hem you in on every side	For the days shall come upon thee, that thine enemies shall cast a trench about thee, and compass thee round, and keep thee in on every side,	For the days will come upon you when your enemies will put up a barricade against you, and surround you and hem you in on every side,	The days will come upon you when your enemies will build an embankment against you and encircle you and hem you in on every side.
44	They will level you to the ground— you and the children within your walls. They will not leave one stone on another, because you did not recognize the time of your visitation from God.	and tear you down to the ground, you and your children within you. And they will not leave one stone upon another in you, because you did not know the time of your visitation.”	And shall lay thee even with the ground, and thy children within thee; and they shall not leave in thee one stone upon another; because thou knewest not the time of thy visitation.	and they will level you to the ground, and <i>throw down</i> your children within you, and they will not leave in you one stone upon another, because you did not recognize the time of your visitation.”	They will dash you to the ground, you and the children within your walls. They will not leave one stone on another, because you did not recognize the time of God’s coming to you.”
45	Then Jesus entered the temple courts and began to drive out those who were selling there.	And he entered the temple and began to drive out those who sold,	And he went into the temple, and began to cast out them that sold therein, and them that bought;	And Jesus entered the temple <i>grounds</i> and began to drive out those who were selling,	When Jesus entered the temple courts, he began to drive out those who were selling.
46	He declared to them, “It is written: ‘My house will be a house of prayer.’ But you have made it ‘a den of robbers.’	saying to them, “It is written, ‘My house shall be a house of prayer,’ but you have made it a den of robbers.”	Saying unto them, It is written, My house is the house of prayer: but ye have made it a den of thieves.	saying to them, “It is written: ‘AND MY HOUSE WILL BE A HOUSE OF PRAYER,’ but you have made it a DEN OF ROBBERS.”	“It is written,” he said to them, “’My house will be a house of prayer’; but you have made it ‘a den of robbers.’”
47	Jesus was teaching at the temple every day, but the chief priests, scribes, and leaders of the people were intent on killing Him.	And he was teaching daily in the temple. The chief priests and the scribes and the principal men of the people were seeking to destroy him,	And he taught daily in the temple. But the chief priests and the scribes and the chief of the people sought to destroy him,	And He was teaching daily in the temple; but the chief priests and the scribes and the leading men among the people were trying to put Him to death,	Every day he was teaching at the temple. But the chief priests, the teachers of the law and the leaders among the people were trying to kill him.
48	Yet they could not find a way to do so, because all the people hung on His words.	but they did not find anything they could do, for all the people were hanging on his words.	And could not find what they might do: for all the people were very attentive to hear him.	and <i>yet</i> they could not find anything that they might do, for all the people were hanging on to every word He said.	Yet they could not find any way to do it, because all the people hung on his words.
