2 If you buy a Hebrew servant, six years shall he serve you; in the seventh, he shall depart freely, without charge. When you buy a Hebrew slave, he shall serve six years, and in the seventh he shall go out free, for nothing. “If you buy a Hebrew servant, he is to serve you for six years. But in the seventh year, he shall go free, without paying anything.
3 With whatever clothing he arrived, with the like let him depart. If he has a wife, his wife also shall depart, at the same time. If he comes in single, he shall go out single; if he comes in married, then his wife shall go out with him. If he comes alone, he is to go free alone; but if he has a wife when he comes, she is to go with him.
4 But if his lord gave him a wife, and she has borne sons and daughters, the woman and her children shall belong to her lord. Yet still, he himself will go out with his clothing. If his master gives him a wife and she bears him sons or daughters, the wife and her children shall be her master’s, and he shall go out alone. If his master gives him a wife and she bears him sons or daughters, the woman and her children shall belong to her master, and only the man shall go free.
