Nebuchadnezzar the king made an image of gold; its height was sixty cubits, its width six cubits. He set it up in the plain of Dura in the province of Babylon. King Nebuchadnezzar made an image of gold, whose height was sixty cubits and its breadth six cubits. He set it up on the plain of Dura, in the province of Babylon. King Nebuchadnezzar made an image of gold, sixty cubits high and six cubits wide, and set it up on the plain of Dura in the province of Babylon.
And Nebuchadnezzar the king sent to gather together the satraps, the administrators, and the governors, the counselors, the treasurers, the judges, the magistrates, and all the officials of the province, to come for the dedication of the image that Nebuchadnezzar the king had set up. Then King Nebuchadnezzar sent to gather the satraps, the prefects, and the governors, the counselors, the treasurers, the justices, the magistrates, and all the officials of the provinces to come to the dedication of the image that King Nebuchadnezzar had set up. He then summoned the satraps, prefects, governors, advisers, treasurers, judges, magistrates and all the other provincial officials to come to the dedication of the image he had set up.
Then were gathered together the satraps, the administrators, and the governors, the counselors, the treasurers, the judges, the magistrates, and all the officials of the province, for the dedication of the image that Nebuchadnezzar the king had set up; and they stood before the image that Nebuchadnezzar had set up. Then the satraps, the prefects, and the governors, the counselors, the treasurers, the justices, the magistrates, and all the officials of the provinces gathered for the dedication of the image that King Nebuchadnezzar had set up. And they stood before the image that Nebuchadnezzar had set up. So the satraps, prefects, governors, advisers, treasurers, judges, magistrates and all the other provincial officials assembled for the dedication of the image that King Nebuchadnezzar had set up, and they stood before it.
And the herald was calling out with force: “To you⁺ it is commanded, O peoples, nations, and languages, And the herald proclaimed aloud, “You are commanded, O peoples, nations, and languages, Then the herald loudly proclaimed, “Nations and peoples of every language, this is what you are commanded to do:
that at the time when you⁺ hear the sound of the horn, flute, zither, lyre, harp, pipe, and all kinds of music, you⁺ shall fall down and give homage to the image of gold that Nebuchadnezzar the king has set up! that when you hear the sound of the horn, pipe, lyre, trigon, harp, bagpipe, and every kind of music, you are to fall down and worship the golden image that King Nebuchadnezzar has set up. As soon as you hear the sound of the horn, flute, zither, lyre, harp, pipe and all kinds of music, you must fall down and worship the image of gold that King Nebuchadnezzar has set up.
And whoever does not fall down and give homage to it, he shall be cast immediately into the midst of a burning furnace of fire!” And whoever does not fall down and worship shall immediately be cast into a burning fiery furnace.” Whoever does not fall down and worship will immediately be thrown into a blazing furnace.”
All because of this, at that time, accordingly as all the people heard the sound of the horn, the flute, the lyre, trigon, pipe, and all kinds of music, they fell down—all the people, nations, and languages—giving homage to the image of gold that Nebuchadnezzar the king had set up. Therefore, as soon as all the peoples heard the sound of the horn, pipe, lyre, trigon, harp, bagpipe, and every kind of music, all the peoples, nations, and languages fell down and worshiped the golden image that King Nebuchadnezzar had set up. Therefore, as soon as they heard the sound of the horn, flute, zither, lyre, harp and all kinds of music, all the nations and peoples of every language fell down and worshiped the image of gold that King Nebuchadnezzar had set up.
