1 NOW the Spirit speaks expressly, that in the latter times some shall depart from the faith, following after misleading spirits, and doctrines of devils. Now the Spirit expressly says that in later times some will depart from the faith by devoting themselves to deceitful spirits and teachings of demons, The Spirit clearly says that in later times some will abandon the faith and follow deceiving spirits and things taught by demons.
2 Who with false appearance mislead and speak lies and are seared in their own conscience; through the insincerity of liars whose consciences are seared, Such teachings come through hypocritical liars, whose consciences have been seared as with a hot iron.

6 If you teach these things to the brethren, you will be a good minister of Jesus Christ, brought up by the words of faith and in the good doctrine which you have been taught. If you put these things before the brothers, you will be a good servant of Christ Jesus, being trained in the words of the faith and of the good doctrine that you have followed. If you point these things out to the brothers and sisters, you will be a good minister of Christ Jesus, nourished on the truths of the faith and of the good teaching that you have followed.
7 Refuse foolish and old wives fables, and train yourself in righteousness. Have nothing to do with irreverent, silly myths. Rather train yourself for godliness; Have nothing to do with godless myths and old wives’ tales; rather, train yourself to be godly.
8 For physical training profits only for a little while: but righteousness is profitable in all things, having promise of the life that now is, and of that which is to come. for while bodily training is of some value, godliness is of value in every way, as it holds promise for the present life and also for the life to come. For physical training is of some value, but godliness has value for all things, holding promise for both the present life and the life to come.
9 This is a true saying and worthy to be accepted. The saying is trustworthy and deserving of full acceptance. This is a trustworthy saying that deserves full acceptance.
10 Because of this, we both toil and suffer reproach, because we trust in the living God, who is the Saviour of all men, especially of those who believe.
