But the Spirit saith expressly, that in later times some shall fall away from the faith, giving heed to seducing spirits and doctrines of devils, Now the Spirit expressly says that in later times some will depart from the faith by devoting themselves to deceitful spirits and teachings of demons, The Spirit clearly says that in later times some will abandon the faith and follow deceiving spirits and things taught by demons.
through the hypocrisy of men that speak lies, branded in their own conscience as with a hot iron; through the insincerity of liars whose consciences are seared, Such teachings come through hypocritical liars, whose consciences have been seared as with a hot iron.
forbidding to marry, and commanding to abstain from meats, which God created to be received with thanksgiving by them that believe and know the truth. who forbid marriage and require abstinence from foods that God created to be received with thanksgiving by those who believe and know the truth. They forbid people to marry and order them to abstain from certain foods, which God created to be received with thanksgiving by those who believe and who know the truth.
For every creature of God is good, and nothing is to be rejected, if it be received with thanksgiving: For everything created by God is good, and nothing is to be rejected if it is received with thanksgiving, For everything God created is good, and nothing is to be rejected if it is received with thanksgiving,
for it is sanctified through the word of God and prayer. for it is made holy by the word of God and prayer. because it is consecrated by the word of God and prayer.
If thou put the brethren in mind of these things, thou shalt be a good minister of Christ Jesus, nourished in the words of the faith, and of the good doctrine which thou hast followed until now: If you put these things before the brothers, you will be a good servant of Christ Jesus, being trained in the words of the faith and of the good doctrine that you have followed. If you point these things out to the brothers and sisters, you will be a good minister of Christ Jesus, nourished on the truths of the faith and of the good teaching that you have followed.
but refuse profane and old wives' fables. And exercise thyself unto godliness: Have nothing to do with irreverent, silly myths. Rather train yourself for godliness; Have nothing to do with godless myths and old wives’ tales; rather, train yourself to be godly.
for bodily exercise is profitable for a little; but godliness is profitable for all things, having promise of the life which now is, and of that which is to come. for while bodily training is of some value, godliness is of value in every way, as it holds promise for the present life and also for the life to come. For physical training is of some value, but godliness has value for all things, holding promise for both the present life and the life to come.
Faithful is the saying, and worthy of all acceptation. The saying is trustworthy and deserving of full acceptance. This is a trustworthy saying that deserves full acceptance.
For to this end we labour and strive, because we have our hope set on the living God, who is the Saviour of all men, specially of them that believe. For to this end we toil and strive, because we have our hope set on the living God, who is the Savior of all people, especially of those who believe. That is why we labor and strive, because we have put our hope in the living God, who is the Savior of all people, and especially of those who believe.
These things command and teach. Command and teach these things. Command and teach these things.
Let no man despise thy youth; but be thou an ensample to them that believe, in word, in manner of life, in love, in faith, in purity. Let no one despise you for your youth, but set the believers an example in speech, in conduct, in love, in faith, in purity. Don’t let anyone look down on you because you are young, but set an example for the believers in speech, in conduct, in love, in faith and in purity.
Till I come, give heed to reading, to exhortation, to teaching. Until I come, devote yourself to the public reading of Scripture, to exhortation, to teaching. Until I come, devote yourself to the public reading of Scripture, to preaching and to teaching.
Neglect not the gift that is in thee, which was given thee by prophecy, with the laying on of the hands of the presbytery. Do not neglect the gift you have, which was given you by prophecy when the council of elders laid their hands on you. Do not neglect your gift, which was given you through prophecy when the body of elders laid their hands on you.
Be diligent in these things; give thyself wholly to them; that thy progress may be manifest unto all. Practice these things, immerse yourself in them, so that all may see your progress. Be diligent in these matters; give yourself wholly to them, so that everyone may see your progress.
Take heed to thyself, and to thy teaching. Continue in these things; for in doing this thou shalt save both thyself and them that hear thee. Keep a close watch on yourself and on the teaching. Persist in this, for by so doing you will save both yourself and your hearers. Watch your life and doctrine closely. Persevere in them, because if you do, you will save both yourself and your hearers.
