New Living Translation | King James Bible |
The LORD is king! Let the nations tremble! He sits on his throne between the cherubim. Let the whole earth quake! | 1The LORD reigneth; let the people tremble: he sitteth between the cherubims; let the earth be moved. |
The LORD sits in majesty in Jerusalem, exalted above all the nations. | 2The LORD is great in Zion; and he is high above all the people. |
Let them praise your great and awesome name. Your name is holy! | 3Let them praise thy great and terrible name; for it is holy. |
Mighty King, lover of justice, you have established fairness. You have acted with justice and righteousness throughout Israel. | 4The king's strength also loveth judgment; thou dost establish equity, thou executest judgment and righteousness in Jacob. |
Exalt the LORD our God! Bow low before his feet, for he is holy! | 5Exalt ye the LORD our God, and worship at his footstool; for he is holy. |
Moses and Aaron were among his priests; Samuel also called on his name. They cried to the LORD for help, and he answered them. | 6Moses and Aaron among his priests, and Samuel among them that call upon his name; they called upon the LORD, and he answered them. |
He spoke to Israel from the pillar of cloud, and they followed the laws and decrees he gave them. | 7He spake unto them in the cloudy pillar: they kept his testimonies, and the ordinance that he gave them. |
O LORD our God, you answered them. You were a forgiving God to them, but you punished them when they went wrong. | 8Thou answeredst them, O LORD our God: thou wast a God that forgavest them, though thou tookest vengeance of their inventions. |
Exalt the LORD our God, and worship at his holy mountain in Jerusalem, for the LORD our God is holy! | 9Exalt the LORD our God, and worship at his holy hill; for the LORD our God is holy. |
