2While I live I will praise the LORD; I will sing praises to my God while I have my being. | 2I will praise the LORD as long as I live! I will sing praises to my God as long as I exist! |
3Do not put your trust in princes, Nor in a son of man, in whom there is no help. | 3Do not trust in princes, or in human beings, who cannot deliver! |
4His spirit departs, he returns to his earth; In that very day his plans perish. | 4Their life's breath departs, they return to the ground; on that day their plans die. |
5Happy is he who has the God of Jacob for his help, Whose hope is in the LORD his God, | 5How blessed is the one whose helper is the God of Jacob, whose hope is in the LORD his God, |

8The LORD opens the eyes of the blind; The LORD raises those who are bowed down; The LORD loves the righteous. | 8The LORD gives sight to the blind. The LORD lifts up all who are bent over. The LORD loves the godly. |
9The LORD watches over the strangers; He relieves the fatherless and widow; But the way of the wicked He turns upside down. | 9The LORD protects those residing outside their native land; he lifts up the fatherless and the widow, but he opposes the wicked. |
10The LORD shall reign forever— Your God, O Zion, to all generations. Praise the LORD! | 10The LORD rules forever, your God, O Zion, throughout the generations to come! Praise the LORD! |
