Psalm 64
NIV Parallel NLT [BSB CSB ESV HCS KJV ISV NAS NET NIV NLT HEB]
New International VersionNew Living Translation
1For the director of music. A psalm of David. Hear me, my God, as I voice my complaint; protect my life from the threat of the enemy.1O God, listen to my complaint. Protect my life from my enemies’ threats.
2Hide me from the conspiracy of the wicked, from the plots of evildoers.2Hide me from the plots of this evil mob, from this gang of wrongdoers.
3They sharpen their tongues like swords and aim cruel words like deadly arrows.3They sharpen their tongues like swords and aim their bitter words like arrows.
4They shoot from ambush at the innocent; they shoot suddenly, without fear.4They shoot from ambush at the innocent, attacking suddenly and fearlessly.
5They encourage each other in evil plans, they talk about hiding their snares; they say, "Who will see it?"5They encourage each other to do evil and plan how to set their traps in secret. “Who will ever notice?” they ask.
6They plot injustice and say, "We have devised a perfect plan!" Surely the human mind and heart are cunning.6As they plot their crimes, they say, “We have devised the perfect plan!” Yes, the human heart and mind are cunning.
7But God will shoot them with his arrows; they will suddenly be struck down.7But God himself will shoot them with his arrows, suddenly striking them down.
8He will turn their own tongues against them and bring them to ruin; all who see them will shake their heads in scorn.8Their own tongues will ruin them, and all who see them will shake their heads in scorn.
9All people will fear; they will proclaim the works of God and ponder what he has done.9Then everyone will be afraid; they will proclaim the mighty acts of God and realize all the amazing things he does.
10The righteous will rejoice in the LORD and take refuge in him; all the upright in heart will glory in him!10The godly will rejoice in the LORD and find shelter in him. And those who do what is right will praise him.
