Psalm 34
NET Parallel NIV [BSB CSB ESV HCS KJV ISV NAS NET NIV NLT HEB]
NET BibleNew International Version
Written by David, when he pretended to be insane before Abimelech, causing the king to send him away. I will praise the LORD at all times; my mouth will continually praise him. 1Of David. When he pretended to be insane before Abimelek, who drove him away, and he left. I will extol the LORD at all times; his praise will always be on my lips.
I will boast in the LORD; let the oppressed hear and rejoice! 2I will glory in the LORD; let the afflicted hear and rejoice.
Magnify the LORD with me! Let's praise his name together! 3Glorify the LORD with me; let us exalt his name together.
I sought the LORD's help and he answered me; he delivered me from all my fears. 4I sought the LORD, and he answered me; he delivered me from all my fears.
Those who look to him for help are happy; their faces are not ashamed. 5Those who look to him are radiant; their faces are never covered with shame.
This oppressed man cried out and the LORD heard; he saved him from all his troubles. 6This poor man called, and the LORD heard him; he saved him out of all his troubles.
The LORD's angel camps around the LORD's loyal followers and delivers them. 7The angel of the LORD encamps around those who fear him, and he delivers them.
Taste and see that the LORD is good! How blessed is the one who takes shelter in him! 8Taste and see that the LORD is good; blessed is the one who takes refuge in him.
Remain loyal to the LORD, you chosen people of his, for his loyal followers lack nothing! 9Fear the LORD, you his holy people, for those who fear him lack nothing.
Even young lions sometimes lack food and are hungry, but those who seek the LORD lack no good thing. 10The lions may grow weak and hungry, but those who seek the LORD lack no good thing.
Come children! Listen to me! I will teach you what it means to fear the LORD. 11Come, my children, listen to me; I will teach you the fear of the LORD.
Do you want to really live? Would you love to live a long, happy life? 12Whoever of you loves life and desires to see many good days,
Then make sure you don't speak evil words or use deceptive speech! 13keep your tongue from evil and your lips from telling lies.
Turn away from evil and do what is right! Strive for peace and promote it! 14Turn from evil and do good; seek peace and pursue it.
The LORD pays attention to the godly and hears their cry for help. 15The eyes of the LORD are on the righteous, and his ears are attentive to their cry;
But the LORD opposes evildoers and wipes out all memory of them from the earth. 16but the face of the LORD is against those who do evil, to blot out their name from the earth.
The godly cry out and the LORD hears; he saves them from all their troubles. 17The righteous cry out, and the LORD hears them; he delivers them from all their troubles.
The LORD is near the brokenhearted; he delivers those who are discouraged. 18The LORD is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit.
The godly face many dangers, but the LORD saves them from each one of them. 19The righteous person may have many troubles, but the LORD delivers him from them all;
He protects all his bones; not one of them is broken. 20he protects all his bones, not one of them will be broken.
Evil people self-destruct; those who hate the godly are punished. 21Evil will slay the wicked; the foes of the righteous will be condemned.
The LORD rescues his servants; all who take shelter in him escape punishment. 22The LORD will rescue his servants; no one who takes refuge in him will be condemned.
