| 1When I came to you, brothers and sisters, I did not come with superior eloquence or wisdom as I proclaimed the testimony of God. | 1And so it was with me, brothers and sisters. When I came to you, I did not come with eloquence or human wisdom as I proclaimed to you the testimony about God. |
| 2For I decided to be concerned about nothing among you except Jesus Christ, and him crucified. | 2For I resolved to know nothing while I was with you except Jesus Christ and him crucified. |

| 14The unbeliever does not receive the things of the Spirit of God, for they are foolishness to him.
