Psalm 28
NASB Parallel NLT [BSB CSB ESV HCS KJV ISV NAS NET NIV NLT HEB]
New American Standard Bible 1995New Living Translation
1A Psalm of David. To You, O LORD, I call; My rock, do not be deaf to me, For if You are silent to me, I will become like those who go down to the pit.1I pray to you, O LORD, my rock. Do not turn a deaf ear to me. For if you are silent, I might as well give up and die.
2Hear the voice of my supplications when I cry to You for help, When I lift up my hands toward Your holy sanctuary.2Listen to my prayer for mercy as I cry out to you for help, as I lift my hands toward your holy sanctuary.
3Do not drag me away with the wicked And with those who work iniquity, Who speak peace with their neighbors, While evil is in their hearts.3Do not drag me away with the wicked— with those who do evil— those who speak friendly words to their neighbors while planning evil in their hearts.
4Requite them according to their work and according to the evil of their practices; Requite them according to the deeds of their hands; Repay them their recompense.4Give them the punishment they so richly deserve! Measure it out in proportion to their wickedness. Pay them back for all their evil deeds! Give them a taste of what they have done to others.
5Because they do not regard the works of the LORD Nor the deeds of His hands, He will tear them down and not build them up.5They care nothing for what the LORD has done or for what his hands have made. So he will tear them down, and they will never be rebuilt!
6Blessed be the LORD, Because He has heard the voice of my supplication.6Praise the LORD! For he has heard my cry for mercy.
7The LORD is my strength and my shield; My heart trusts in Him, and I am helped; Therefore my heart exults, And with my song I shall thank Him.7The LORD is my strength and shield. I trust him with all my heart. He helps me, and my heart is filled with joy. I burst out in songs of thanksgiving.
8The LORD is their strength, And He is a saving defense to His anointed.8The LORD gives his people strength. He is a safe fortress for his anointed king.
9Save Your people and bless Your inheritance; Be their shepherd also, and carry them forever.9Save your people! Bless Israel, your special possession. Lead them like a shepherd, and carry them in your arms forever.
