A Psalm of David when he feigned madness before Abimelech, who drove him away and he departed. I will bless the LORD at all times; His praise shall continually be in my mouth.1A Psalm of David, when he changed his behaviour before Abimelech; who drove him away, and he departed. I will bless the LORD at all times: his praise shall continually be in my mouth.
My soul will make its boast in the LORD; The humble will hear it and rejoice.2My soul shall make her boast in the LORD: the humble shall hear thereof, and be glad.
O magnify the LORD with me, And let us exalt His name together.3O magnify the LORD with me, and let us exalt his name together.
I sought the LORD, and He answered me, And delivered me from all my fears.4I sought the LORD, and he heard me, and delivered me from all my fears.
They looked to Him and were radiant, And their faces will never be ashamed.5They looked unto him, and were lightened: and their faces were not ashamed.
This poor man cried, and the LORD heard him And saved him out of all his troubles.6This poor man cried, and the LORD heard him, and saved him out of all his troubles.
The angel of the LORD encamps around those who fear Him, And rescues them.7The angel of the LORD encampeth round about them that fear him, and delivereth them.
O taste and see that the LORD is good; How blessed is the man who takes refuge in Him!8O taste and see that the LORD is good: blessed is the man that trusteth in him.
O fear the LORD, you His saints; For to those who fear Him there is no want.9O fear the LORD, ye his saints: for there is no want to them that fear him.
The young lions do lack and suffer hunger; But they who seek the LORD shall not be in want of any good thing.10The young lions do lack, and suffer hunger: but they that seek the LORD shall not want any good thing.
Come, you children, listen to me; I will teach you the fear of the LORD.11Come, ye children, hearken unto me: I will teach you the fear of the LORD.
Who is the man who desires life And loves length of days that he may see good?12What man is he that desireth life, and loveth many days, that he may see good?
Keep your tongue from evil And your lips from speaking deceit.13Keep thy tongue from evil, and thy lips from speaking guile.
Depart from evil and do good; Seek peace and pursue it.14Depart from evil, and do good; seek peace, and pursue it.
The eyes of the LORD are toward the righteous And His ears are open to their cry.15The eyes of the LORD are upon the righteous, and his ears are open unto their cry.
The face of the LORD is against evildoers, To cut off the memory of them from the earth.16The face of the LORD is against them that do evil, to cut off the remembrance of them from the earth.
The righteous cry, and the LORD hears And delivers them out of all their troubles.17The righteous cry, and the LORD heareth, and delivereth them out of all their troubles.
The LORD is near to the brokenhearted And saves those who are crushed in spirit.18The LORD is nigh unto them that are of a broken heart; and saveth such as be of a contrite spirit.
Many are the afflictions of the righteous, But the LORD delivers him out of them all.19Many are the afflictions of the righteous: but the LORD delivereth him out of them all.
He keeps all his bones, Not one of them is broken.20He keepeth all his bones: not one of them is broken.
Evil shall slay the wicked, And those who hate the righteous will be condemned.21Evil shall slay the wicked: and they that hate the righteous shall be desolate.
The LORD redeems the soul of His servants, And none of those who take refuge in Him will be condemned.22The LORD redeemeth the soul of his servants: and none of them that trust in him shall be desolate.
