Psalm 11
KJV Parallel ESV [BSB CSB ESV HCS KJV ISV NAS NET NIV NLT HEB]
King James BibleEnglish Standard Version
1To the chief Musician, A Psalm of David. In the LORD put I my trust: how say ye to my soul, Flee as a bird to your mountain?1In the LORD I take refuge; how can you say to my soul, “Flee like a bird to your mountain,
2For, lo, the wicked bend their bow, they make ready their arrow upon the string, that they may privily shoot at the upright in heart.2for behold, the wicked bend the bow; they have fitted their arrow to the string to shoot in the dark at the upright in heart;
3If the foundations be destroyed, what can the righteous do?3if the foundations are destroyed, what can the righteous do?”
4The LORD is in his holy temple, the LORD'S throne is in heaven: his eyes behold, his eyelids try, the children of men.4The LORD is in his holy temple; the LORD’s throne is in heaven; his eyes see, his eyelids test the children of man.
5The LORD trieth the righteous: but the wicked and him that loveth violence his soul hateth.5The LORD tests the righteous, but his soul hates the wicked and the one who loves violence.
6Upon the wicked he shall rain snares, fire and brimstone, and an horrible tempest: this shall be the portion of their cup.6Let him rain coals on the wicked; fire and sulfur and a scorching wind shall be the portion of their cup.
7For the righteous LORD loveth righteousness; his countenance doth behold the upright.7For the LORD is righteous; he loves righteous deeds; the upright shall behold his face.
