And I saw in the right hand of him that sat on the throne a book written within and on the backside, sealed with seven seals. | 1Then I saw in the right hand of the one seated on the throne a scroll with writing on both sides, sealed with seven seals. |
And I saw a strong angel proclaiming with a loud voice, Who is worthy to open the book, and to loose the seals thereof? | 2I also saw a mighty angel proclaiming with a loud voice, "Who is worthy to open the scroll and break its seals?" |
And no man in heaven, nor in earth, neither under the earth, was able to open the book, neither to look thereon. | 3But no one in heaven or on earth or under the earth was able to open the scroll or even to look in it. |
And I wept much, because no man was found worthy to open and to read the book, neither to look thereon. | 4I wept and wept because no one was found worthy to open the scroll or even to look in it. |
And one of the elders saith unto me, Weep not: behold, the Lion of the tribe of Juda, the Root of David, hath prevailed to open the book, and to loose the seven seals thereof. | 5Then one of the elders said to me, "Do not weep. Look, the Lion from the tribe of Judah, the Root of David, has conquered so that he is able to open the scroll and its seven seals." |
And I beheld, and, lo, in the midst of the throne and of the four beasts, and in the midst of the elders, stood a Lamb as it had been slain, having seven horns and seven eyes, which are the seven Spirits of God sent forth into all the earth. | 6Then I saw one like a slaughtered lamb standing in the midst of the throne and the four living creatures and among the elders. He had seven horns and seven eyes, which are the seven spirits of God sent into all the earth. |
And he came and took the book out of the right hand of him that sat upon the throne. | 7He went and took the scroll out of the right hand of the one seated on the throne. |
And when he had taken the book, the four beasts and four and twenty elders fell down before the Lamb, having every one of them harps, and golden vials full of odours, which are the prayers of saints. | 8When he took the scroll, the four living creatures and the twenty-four elders fell down before the Lamb. Each one had a harp and golden bowls filled with incense, which are the prayers of the saints. |
And they sung a new song, saying, Thou art worthy to take the book, and to open the seals thereof: for thou wast slain, and hast redeemed us to God by thy blood out of every kindred, and tongue, and people, and nation; | 9And they sang a new song: You are worthy to take the scroll and to open its seals, because you were slaughtered, and you purchased people for God by your blood from every tribe and language and people and nation. |
And hast made us unto our God kings and priests: and we shall reign on the earth. | 10You made them a kingdom and priests to our God, and they will reign on the earth. |
And I beheld, and I heard the voice of many angels round about the throne and the beasts and the elders: and the number of them was ten thousand times ten thousand, and thousands of thousands; | 11Then I looked and heard the voice of many angels around the throne, and also of the living creatures and of the elders. Their number was countless thousands, plus thousands of thousands. |
Saying with a loud voice, Worthy is the Lamb that was slain to receive power, and riches, and wisdom, and strength, and honour, and glory, and blessing. | 12They said with a loud voice, Worthy is the Lamb who was slaughtered to receive power and riches and wisdom and strength and honor and glory and blessing! |
And every creature which is in heaven, and on the earth, and under the earth, and such as are in the sea, and all that are in them, heard I saying, Blessing, and honour, and glory, and power, be unto him that sitteth upon the throne, and unto the Lamb for ever and ever. | 13I heard every creature in heaven, on earth, under the earth, on the sea, and everything in them say, Blessing and honor and glory and power be to the one seated on the throne, and to the Lamb, forever and ever! |
And the four beasts said, Amen. And the four and twenty elders fell down and worshipped him that liveth for ever and ever. | 14The four living creatures said, "Amen," and the elders fell down and worshiped. |
