King James Bible | Berean Study Bible |
Brethren, if a man be overtaken in a fault, ye which are spiritual, restore such an one in the spirit of meekness; considering thyself, lest thou also be tempted. | 1Brothers, if someone is caught in a trespass, you who are spiritual should restore him with a spirit of gentleness. But watch yourself, or you also may be tempted. |
Bear ye one another's burdens, and so fulfil the law of Christ. | 2Carry one another’s burdens, and in this way you will fulfill the law of Christ. |
For if a man think himself to be something, when he is nothing, he deceiveth himself. | 3If anyone thinks he is something when he is nothing, he deceives himself. |
But let every man prove his own work, and then shall he have rejoicing in himself alone, and not in another. | 4Each one should test his own work. Then he will have reason to boast in himself alone, and not in someone else. |
For every man shall bear his own burden. | 5For each one should carry his own load. |
Let him that is taught in the word communicate unto him that teacheth in all good things. | 6Nevertheless, the one who receives instruction in the word must share in all good things with his instructor. |
Be not deceived; God is not mocked: for whatsoever a man soweth, that shall he also reap. | 7Do not be deceived: God is not to be mocked. Whatever a man sows, he will reap in return. |
For he that soweth to his flesh shall of the flesh reap corruption; but he that soweth to the Spirit shall of the Spirit reap life everlasting. | 8The one who sows to please his flesh, from the flesh will reap destruction; but the one who sows to please the Spirit, from the Spirit will reap eternal life. |
And let us not be weary in well doing: for in due season we shall reap, if we faint not. | 9Let us not grow weary in well-doing, for in due time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up. |
As we have therefore opportunity, let us do good unto all men, especially unto them who are of the household of faith. | 10Therefore, as we have opportunity, let us do good to everyone, and especially to the family of faith. |
Ye see how large a letter I have written unto you with mine own hand. | 11See what large letters I am using to write to you with my own hand! |
As many as desire to make a fair shew in the flesh, they constrain you to be circumcised; only lest they should suffer persecution for the cross of Christ. | 12Those who want to make a good impression outwardly are trying to compel you to be circumcised. They only do this to avoid persecution for the cross of Christ. |
For neither they themselves who are circumcised keep the law; but desire to have you circumcised, that they may glory in your flesh. | 13For the circumcised do not even keep the law themselves, yet they want you to be circumcised that they may boast in your flesh. |
But God forbid that I should glory, save in the cross of our Lord Jesus Christ, by whom the world is crucified unto me, and I unto the world. | 14But as for me, may I never boast, except in the cross of our Lord Jesus Christ, through which the world has been crucified to me, and I to the world. |
For in Christ Jesus neither circumcision availeth any thing, nor uncircumcision, but a new creature. | 15For neither circumcision nor uncircumcision means anything. What counts is a new creation. |
And as many as walk according to this rule, peace be on them, and mercy, and upon the Israel of God. | 16Peace and mercy to all who walk by this rule, even to the Israel of God. |
From henceforth let no man trouble me: for I bear in my body the marks of the Lord Jesus. | 17From now on let no one cause me trouble, for I bear on my body the marks of Jesus. |
Brethren, the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with your spirit. Amen. | 18The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with your spirit, brothers. Amen. |
