Holman Christian Standard BibleKing James Bible
For the choir director: according to Jeduthun. A Davidic psalm. I am at rest in God alone; my salvation comes from Him. 1To the chief Musician, to Jeduthun, A Psalm of David. Truly my soul waiteth upon God: from him cometh my salvation.
He alone is my rock and my salvation, my stronghold; I will never be shaken. 2He only is my rock and my salvation; he is my defence; I shall not be greatly moved.
How long will you threaten a man? Will all of you attack as if he were a leaning wall or a tottering stone fence? 3How long will ye imagine mischief against a man? ye shall be slain all of you: as a bowing wall shall ye be, and as a tottering fence.
They only plan to bring him down from his high position. They take pleasure in lying; they bless with their mouths, but they curse inwardly. Selah 4They only consult to cast him down from his excellency: they delight in lies: they bless with their mouth, but they curse inwardly. Selah.
Rest in God alone, my soul, for my hope comes from Him. 5My soul, wait thou only upon God; for my expectation is from him.
He alone is my rock and my salvation, my stronghold; I will not be shaken. 6He only is my rock and my salvation: he is my defence; I shall not be moved.
My salvation and glory depend on God, my strong rock. My refuge is in God. 7In God is my salvation and my glory: the rock of my strength, and my refuge, is in God.
Trust in Him at all times, you people; pour out your hearts before Him. God is our refuge. Selah 8Trust in him at all times; ye people, pour out your heart before him: God is a refuge for us. Selah.
Men are only a vapor; exalted men, an illusion. Weighed in the scales, they go up; together they are less than a vapor. 9Surely men of low degree are vanity, and men of high degree are a lie: to be laid in the balance, they are altogether lighter than vanity.
Place no trust in oppression, or false hope in robbery. If wealth increases, pay no attention to it. 10Trust not in oppression, and become not vain in robbery: if riches increase, set not your heart upon them.
God has spoken once; I have heard this twice: strength belongs to God, 11God hath spoken once; twice have I heard this; that power belongeth unto God.
and faithful love belongs to You, LORD. For You repay each according to his works. 12Also unto thee, O Lord, belongeth mercy: for thou renderest to every man according to his work.
