English Standard Version | New Living Translation |
The LORD reigns; he is robed in majesty; the LORD is robed; he has put on strength as his belt. Yes, the world is established; it shall never be moved. | 1The LORD is king! He is robed in majesty. Indeed, the LORD is robed in majesty and armed with strength. The world stands firm and cannot be shaken. |
Your throne is established from of old; you are from everlasting. | 2Your throne, O LORD, has stood from time immemorial. You yourself are from the everlasting past. |
The floods have lifted up, O LORD, the floods have lifted up their voice; the floods lift up their roaring. | 3The floods have risen up, O LORD. The floods have roared like thunder; the floods have lifted their pounding waves. |
Mightier than the thunders of many waters, mightier than the waves of the sea, the LORD on high is mighty! | 4But mightier than the violent raging of the seas, mightier than the breakers on the shore— the LORD above is mightier than these! |
Your decrees are very trustworthy; holiness befits your house, O LORD, forevermore. | 5Your royal laws cannot be changed. Your reign, O LORD, is holy forever and ever. |
