Psalm 43
English Standard Version Parallel NLT [BSB CSB ESV HCS KJV ISV NAS NET NIV NLT HEB]
English Standard VersionNew Living Translation
1Vindicate me, O God, and defend my cause against an ungodly people, from the deceitful and unjust man deliver me!1Declare me innocent, O God! Defend me against these ungodly people. Rescue me from these unjust liars.
2For you are the God in whom I take refuge; why have you rejected me? Why do I go about mourning because of the oppression of the enemy?2For you are God, my only safe haven. Why have you tossed me aside? Why must I wander around in grief, oppressed by my enemies?
3Send out your light and your truth; let them lead me; let them bring me to your holy hill and to your dwelling!3Send out your light and your truth; let them guide me. Let them lead me to your holy mountain, to the place where you live.
4Then I will go to the altar of God, to God my exceeding joy, and I will praise you with the lyre, O God, my God.4There I will go to the altar of God, to God--the source of all my joy. I will praise you with my harp, O God, my God!
5Why are you cast down, O my soul, and why are you in turmoil within me? Hope in God; for I shall again praise him, my salvation and my God.5Why am I discouraged? Why is my heart so sad? I will put my hope in God! I will praise him again--my Savior and my God!
