| 2He alone is my rock and my salvation, my fortress; I shall not be greatly shaken. | 2He alone is my protector and deliverer. He is my refuge; I will not be upended. |
| 3How long will all of you attack a man to batter him, like a leaning wall, a tottering fence? | 3How long will you threaten a man? All of you are murderers, as dangerous as a leaning wall or an unstable fence. |
| 4They only plan to thrust him down from his high position. They take pleasure in falsehood. They bless with their mouths, but inwardly they curse. Selah | 4They spend all their time planning how to bring him down. They love to use deceit; they pronounce blessings with their mouths, but inwardly they utter curses. (Selah) |
