Psalm 127
ESV Parallel BSB [BSB CSB ESV HCS KJV ISV NAS NET NIV NLT HEB]
English Standard VersionBerean Study Bible
1Unless the LORD builds the house, those who build it labor in vain. Unless the LORD watches over the city, the watchman stays awake in vain.1A song of ascents. Of Solomon. Unless the LORD builds the house, its builders labor in vain; unless the LORD protects the city, its watchmen stand guard in vain.
2It is in vain that you rise up early and go late to rest, eating the bread of anxious toil; for he gives to his beloved sleep.2In vain you rise early and stay up late, toiling for bread to eat—for He gives sleep to His beloved.
3Behold, children are a heritage from the LORD, the fruit of the womb a reward.3Children are indeed a heritage from the LORD, and the fruit of the womb is His reward.
4Like arrows in the hand of a warrior are the children of one’s youth.4Like arrows in the hand of a warrior, so are children born in one’s youth.
5Blessed is the man who fills his quiver with them! He shall not be put to shame when he speaks with his enemies in the gate.5Blessed is the man whose quiver is full of them. He will not be put to shame when he confronts the enemies at the gate.
