| Berean Study Bible | New Living Translation |
| 1A Song of Ascents. I lift up my eyes to the hills. From where does my help come? | 1A song for pilgrims ascending to Jerusalem. I look up to the mountains--does my help come from there? |
| 2My help comes from the LORD, the Maker of heaven and earth. | 2My help comes from the LORD, who made heaven and earth! |
| 3He will not allow your foot to slip; your Protector will not slumber. | 3He will not let you stumble; the one who watches over you will not slumber. |
| 4Behold, the Protector of Israel will not slumber or sleep. | 4Indeed, he who watches over Israel never slumbers or sleeps. |
| 5The LORD is your keeper; the LORD is the shade on your right hand. | 5The LORD himself watches over you! The LORD stands beside you as your protective shade. |
| 6The sun will not strike you by day nor the moon by night. | 6The sun will not harm you by day, nor the moon at night. |
| 7The LORD will guard you from all evil; He will preserve your soul. | 7The LORD keeps you from all harm and watches over your life. |
| 8The LORD will watch over your coming and going, both now and forevermore. | 8The LORD keeps watch over you as you come and go, both now and forever. |
