Berean Study BibleNew American Standard Bible 1995
Vindicate me, O God, and plead my case against an ungodly nation; deliver me from deceitful and unjust men.1Vindicate me, O God, and plead my case against an ungodly nation; O deliver me from the deceitful and unjust man!
For You are the God of my refuge. Why have You rejected me? Why must I walk in sorrow because of the enemy’s oppression?2For You are the God of my strength; why have You rejected me? Why do I go mourning because of the oppression of the enemy?
Send out Your light and Your truth; let them lead me. Let them bring me to Your holy mountain, and to the place where You dwell.3O send out Your light and Your truth, let them lead me; Let them bring me to Your holy hill And to Your dwelling places.
Then I will go to the altar of God, to God, my greatest joy. I will praise You with the harp, O God, my God.4Then I will go to the altar of God, To God my exceeding joy; And upon the lyre I shall praise You, O God, my God.
Why are you downcast, O my soul? Why the unease within me? Put your hope in God, for I will yet praise Him, my Savior and my God.5Why are you in despair, O my soul? And why are you disturbed within me? Hope in God, for I shall again praise Him, The help of my countenance and my God.
