And the king repeated his vow: "As surely as the LORD lives, who has rescued me from every danger,
Submit to God's royal son, or he will become angry, and you will be destroyed in the midst of all your activities--for his anger flares up in an instant. But what joy for all who take refuge in him!
But the LORD will not let the wicked succeed or let the godly be condemned when they are put on trial.
The LORD helps them, rescuing them from the wicked. He saves them, and they find shelter in him.
For the choir director: A psalm of David, regarding the time he fled from Saul and went into the cave. To be sung to the tune "Do Not Destroy!" Have mercy on me, O God, have mercy! I look to you for protection. I will hide beneath the shadow of your wings until the danger passes by.
I will shout for joy and sing your praises, for you have ransomed me.
Praise the LORD! Yes, give praise, O servants of the LORD. Praise the name of the LORD!
