CommentaryClarke's Commentary on the Bible
Thou hast made me an abonmination - This verse has been supposed to express the state of a leper, who, because of the infectious nature of his disease, is separated from his family - is abominable to all, and at last shut up in a separate house, whence he does not come out to mingle with society.

O Lord God of my salvation, I have cried day and night unto Thee. Oh! let my prayer enter into Thy presence. For my soul is full of trouble and my life draweth nigh unto Hell. Thou hast laid me in the lowest pit, in a place of darkness, and in the deep.--Ps. lxxxviii. 1, 2. If I go down to Hell, Thou art there also. Yea, the darkness is no darkness with Thee; but the night is as clear as the day.--Ps. cxxxix. 7, 11. I waited patiently for the Lord; and He inclined unto me, and heard my calling. …

"He has alienated my family from me; my acquaintances are completely estranged from me.
All my intimate friends detest me; those I love have turned against me.
They detest me and keep their distance; they do not hesitate to spit in my face.
Because of all my enemies, I am the utter contempt of my neighbors and an object of dread to my closest friends-- those who see me on the street flee from me.
You have taken from me friend and neighbor-- darkness is my closest friend.
Look and see, there is no one at my right hand; no one is concerned for me. I have no refuge; no one cares for my life.
