for our God is a consuming fire.
So Moses stretched out his hand over the sea, and the sea returned to its normal state at daybreak, while the Egyptians were fleeing right into it; then the LORD overthrew the Egyptians in the midst of the sea.
"For the LORD your God is a consuming fire, a jealous God.
He sent upon them His burning anger, Fury and indignation and trouble, A band of destroying angels.
He leveled a path for His anger; He did not spare their soul from death, But gave over their life to the plague,
Therefore, as a tongue of fire consumes stubble And dry grass collapses into the flame, So their root will become like rot and their blossom blow away as dust; For they have rejected the law of the LORD of hosts And despised the word of the Holy One of Israel.
