And I saw a beast (wild animal) rising from out of the sea, having ten horns, and seven heads, and ten diadems (royal crowns) upon its horns, and names of blasphemy upon its heads.
And the beast that I saw was similar to a leopard, and its feet like as a bear’s, and its mouth like as the mouth of a lion; and the dragon gave to it his power and his throne and great authority.
And one of its heads like as having been slain unto death; and its wound (blow, stripe) of death was healed; and the whole earth marveled after the beast.
And they worshipped the dragon, who had given his authority to the beast; and they worshipped the beast, saying, Who is similar to the beast? And who is able to make war against it?
And a mouth speaking great things and blasphemy was given to it; and the authority to act was given to it for forty and two months (3.5yrs).
And it opened its mouth unto blasphemies against (toward) God, to blaspheme His name and His tabernacle, those dwelling (tabernacle-ing) in heaven. 7And it was given to it to make war with the saints, and to overcome them; and authority was given to it over (upon) every tribe, and people and tongue, and ethnicity; 8And all residing upon the earth will worship it, of whom their names have not been written in the book of life of the Lamb having been slain from the founding of the world. 9If anyone has an ear, let him hear. 10If anyone [is to go] into captivity into captivity he goes; if anyone will kill with (by, in) the sword, it is necessary (inevitable) that he be killed with (by, in) the sword. Here is the endurance and the faith of the saints. 11And I saw another beast rising from out of the earth and it had two horns similar to a lamb, and it spoke like as a dragon; 12And it exercises (makes, does) all the authority of the first beast in the sight of it, and causes (makes, does) the earth and those residing in it, so that they shall worship the first beast, of whom it’s fatal wound had been healed. 13And it makes great signs, so that it should make even fire to come down from out of heaven unto the earth in the sight of men. 14And it deceives those residing upon the earth because of the signs that were given to it to make in the sight of the beast, telling those residing upon the earth to make an image (idol, icon) to the beast that has the wound of the sword and has lived. 15And it was given to it to give breath (spirit) to the image of the beast, so that the image of the beast should also speak and should cause (make) so that as many as would not worship the image of the beast would be killed. 16And it causes (makes) all the small and the great; and the rich and the poor; and the free and the bond-slaves; so that it should give them a mark (engraving, brand-mark, identification-marker, latin-caracter-mark root is character) upon their right hand or upon their forehead; 17And so that no one should be able to buy or to sell, except the one having the mark- the name of the beast, or the number of its name. 18Here is the wisdom. The one having understanding let him calculate (compute, latin-conputet-count root is compute) the number of the beast: it is indeed a man’s number; and the number is of it, six hundred sixty six (666). |
