Sarai, being barren, gives Hagar to Abram.
wə·śā·ray  ’ê·šeṯ  ’aḇ·rām,    yā·lə·ḏāh  lōw;  wə·lāh  šip̄·ḥāh  miṣ·rîṯ  ū·šə·māh  hā·ḡār.  wat·tō·mer  śā·ray  ’el-  ’aḇ·rām,  hin·nêh-    ‘ă·ṣā·ra·nî  Yah·weh  mil·le·ḏeṯ,  bō-    ’el-  šip̄·ḥā·ṯî,  ’ū·lay  ’ib·bā·neh  mim·mên·nāh;  way·yiš·ma‘  ’aḇ·rām  lə·qō·wl  śā·rāy.  wat·tiq·qaḥ  śā·ray  ’ê·šeṯ-  ’aḇ·rām,  ’eṯ-  hā·ḡār  ham·miṣ·rîṯ  šip̄·ḥā·ṯāh,  miq·qêṣ  ‘e·śer  šā·nîm,  lə·še·ḇeṯ  ’aḇ·rām  bə·’e·reṣ  kə·nā·‘an;  wat·tit·tên  ’ō·ṯāh  lə·’aḇ·rām  ’î·šāh  lōw  lə·’iš·šāh. 
Hagar, being afflicted for despising her mistress, runs away.
An angel commands her to return and submit herself,
promises her a numerous posterity,
and shows their character and condition.
Hagar names the place, and returns to Sarai.
Ishmael is born.
The age of Abram.
