Trust

Trust, in the biblical context, is a profound reliance on God’s character, promises, and providence. It is a central theme throughout Scripture, emphasizing the believer's confidence in God's faithfulness and sovereignty. Trust is not merely an intellectual assent but a wholehearted commitment to God, often in the face of uncertainty or adversity.

The Psalms frequently highlight trust in God as a source of strength and refuge. Psalm 56:3-4 states, "When I am afraid, I put my trust in You. In God, whose word I praise—in God I trust. I will not be afraid. What can man do to me?" This passage underscores the believer's assurance in God's protection and the futility of fearing human threats.

Proverbs 3:5-6 further instructs, "Trust in the LORD with all your heart, and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways acknowledge Him, and He will make your paths straight." The New Testament continues this theme, with Jesus Himself calling for trust in God. In John 14:1 , Jesus comforts His disciples, saying, "Do not let your hearts be troubled. You believe in God; believe also in Me." Trust in Christ is equated with trust in God, affirming His divine nature and the reliability of His promises.

Care

Care, as depicted in the Bible, refers to God's compassionate concern for His creation, particularly His people. It encompasses His provision, protection, and guidance, reflecting His loving nature and covenantal faithfulness.

One of the most poignant expressions of God's care is found in 1 Peter 5:7 : "Cast all your anxiety on Him, because He cares for you." This verse invites believers to entrust their worries to God, assured of His attentive and loving concern for their well-being.

The Gospels illustrate God's care through the teachings of Jesus. In Matthew 6:25-26 , Jesus teaches, "Therefore I tell you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat or drink; or about your body, what you will wear. Is not life more than food, and the body more than clothes? Look at the birds of the air; they do not sow or reap or gather into barns—and yet your Heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not much more valuable than they?" This passage reassures believers of God's provision, encouraging them to prioritize His kingdom over material concerns.

The Apostle Paul also speaks of God's care in Philippians 4:19 : "And my God will supply all your needs according to His glorious riches in Christ Jesus." This promise highlights the sufficiency of God's provision through Christ, assuring believers that their needs will be met in accordance with His abundant resources.
