The Apostle John emphasizes the assurance of eternal life in his epistles, stating, "And this is the testimony: God has given us eternal life, and this life is in His Son. Whoever has the Son has life; whoever does not have the Son of God does not have life" (1 John 5:11-12).

The Nature of the Resurrected Body

The hope of resurrection includes the transformation of the believer's body. Paul describes this transformation in 1 Corinthians 15:42-44 : "So will it be with the resurrection of the dead: What is sown is perishable; it is raised imperishable. It is sown in dishonor; it is raised in glory. It is sown in weakness; it is raised in power. It is sown a natural body; it is raised a spiritual body."

Living in Hope

The hope of resurrection and eternal life profoundly impacts the believer's life, providing motivation for holy living and perseverance in trials. Paul encourages the Corinthians, "Therefore, my beloved brothers, be steadfast and immovable. Always excel in the work of the Lord, because you know that your labor in the Lord is not in vain" (1 Corinthians 15:58).

This hope also offers comfort in the face of death, as Paul writes to the Thessalonians, "We do not want you to be uninformed, brothers, about those who sleep in death, so that you will not grieve like the rest, who are without hope" (1 Thessalonians 4:13). The assurance of resurrection and eternal life transforms the Christian perspective on death, viewing it not as an end but as a transition to eternal glory with Christ.
