Pelatiah is a biblical figure mentioned in the Old Testament, specifically in the book of Ezekiel. He is identified as the son of Benaiah and one of the leaders of the people in Jerusalem during the time of the prophet Ezekiel. In Ezekiel 11:1, Pelatiah is listed among the twenty-five men at the east gate of the LORD's house, who were giving wicked counsel to the city. The prophet Ezekiel, in a vision, sees Pelatiah's sudden death as a sign of God's impending judgment on the leaders of Jerusalem. Ezekiel 11:13 states, "Now as I was prophesying, Pelatiah son of Benaiah died. Then I fell facedown and cried out with a loud voice, 'Alas, Lord GOD! Will You bring the remnant of Israel to a complete end?'"

Pelatiah's role as a leader who gave wicked counsel highlights the theme of accountability among those in positions of authority. His death serves as a divine warning against leading the people astray and underscores the seriousness with which God views the responsibilities of leadership.

Neariah

Neariah is a lesser-known figure in the Bible, mentioned in the genealogies of the tribe of Judah. He is a descendant of David, appearing in the lineage of the royal family. In 1 Chronicles 3:22 , Neariah is listed as one of the sons of Shemaiah, who was a descendant of Zerubbabel: "The descendants of Shemaiah: Hattush, Igal, Bariah, Neariah, and Shaphat—six in all." Neariah's inclusion in the genealogical records emphasizes the continuity of the Davidic line, which holds significant importance in biblical history and prophecy, particularly concerning the messianic expectations fulfilled in Jesus Christ.

Rephaiah

Rephaiah is another biblical figure mentioned in the genealogies of the tribe of Judah. He is noted as a descendant of David and appears in the lineage of the royal family. In 1 Chronicles 3:21 , Rephaiah is listed as one of the sons of Hananiah, who was a descendant of Zerubbabel: "The descendants of Hananiah: Pelatiah and Jeshaiah, and the sons of Rephaiah, Arnan, Obadiah, and Shecaniah." Rephaiah's mention in the genealogical records serves to trace the lineage of the house of David, which is central to the biblical narrative and the fulfillment of God's promises to David regarding his descendants.

Uzziel

Uzziel is a name that appears multiple times in the Old Testament, referring to different individuals. One notable Uzziel is a son of Kohath, making him a grandson of Levi and an ancestor of the Kohathite Levites. In Exodus 6:18 , Uzziel is mentioned as one of the sons of Kohath: "The sons of Kohath were Amram, Izhar, Hebron, and Uzziel. The lifespan of Kohath was 133 years." The Kohathites held a special role among the Levites, being responsible for the care and transport of the most sacred objects of the tabernacle, including the Ark of the Covenant.

Another Uzziel is mentioned in 1 Chronicles 25:4 as a musician in the service of King David: "From the sons of Heman: Bukkiah, Mattaniah, Uzziel, Shubael, Jerimoth, Hananiah, Hanani, Eliathah, Giddalti, Romamti-ezer, Joshbekashah, Mallothi, Hothir, and Mahazioth." This Uzziel was part of the group of Levites appointed by David to lead worship through music, highlighting the importance of worship and praise in the life of Israel.

The name Uzziel, meaning "God is my strength," reflects a common theme in biblical names, emphasizing reliance on God's power and presence.
