He then made mud with His saliva, applied it to the man's eyes, and instructed him to wash in the Pool of Siloam. The man obeyed and returned with his sight restored, illustrating Jesus' power to bring both physical and spiritual illumination.

The Raising of Lazarus

Though not within the city limits of Jerusalem, the raising of Lazarus in nearby Bethany is intrinsically linked to Jesus' ministry in Jerusalem. In John 11, Jesus raised Lazarus from the dead after four days in the tomb, proclaiming, "I am the resurrection and the life. Whoever believes in Me will live, even though he dies" (John 11:25). This miracle foreshadowed Jesus' own resurrection and underscored His dominion over life and death.

Cleansing of the Temple

While not a miracle in the traditional sense, Jesus' cleansing of the Temple in Jerusalem is a significant act of divine authority. In John 2, Jesus drove out the money changers and merchants, declaring, "Take these things away! Stop turning My Father’s house into a marketplace!" (John 2:16). This act demonstrated His zeal for true worship and His authority over religious practices.

The Withering of the Fig Tree

During His final week in Jerusalem, Jesus performed the symbolic miracle of cursing the barren fig tree, which withered at His command. As recorded in Matthew 21:19, Jesus said to the tree, "May you never bear fruit again!" . This act served as a prophetic sign of judgment against unfruitfulness and hypocrisy, particularly directed at the religious leaders of the time.

Miracles During the Passion Week

In the days leading up to His crucifixion, Jesus continued to perform miracles, including the healing of the high priest's servant's ear, which Peter had severed during Jesus' arrest (Luke 22:51). This miracle, performed in the Garden of Gethsemane, highlighted Jesus' commitment to peace and His divine power even in the face of imminent suffering.

The miracles of Jesus in Jerusalem are a testament to His divine nature and mission. They reveal His authority over creation, His compassion for humanity, and His fulfillment of messianic prophecies, inviting all to recognize Him as the Christ, the Son of the living God.
