God's Sovereignty

God's sovereignty refers to His ultimate authority and control over the universe. He is the Creator and Sustainer of all things, and nothing occurs outside His will. The Bible affirms God's sovereignty in numerous passages, highlighting His power and wisdom. In Isaiah 46:9-10 , God declares, "Remember the former things of old; for I am God, and there is no other; I am God, and there is none like Me, declaring the end from the beginning, and from ancient times things not yet done, saying, 'My counsel shall stand, and I will accomplish all My purpose.'"

The sovereignty of God is also evident in the New Testament, where it is affirmed in the life and work of Jesus Christ. Colossians 1:16-17 states, "For in Him all things were created, things in heaven and on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or dominions or rulers or authorities. All things were created through Him and for Him. He is before all things, and in Him all things hold together." This passage underscores Christ's preeminence and His sustaining power over creation.

Interplay of Care and Sovereignty

The interplay between God's care and sovereignty is a profound mystery that offers comfort and assurance to believers. God's sovereignty ensures that His care is not limited by any external force, and His care demonstrates that His sovereignty is exercised with love and compassion. Romans 8:28 encapsulates this relationship: "And we know that God works all things together for the good of those who love Him, who are called according to His purpose."
