Repentance

Repentance is a fundamental aspect of the Christian faith, involving a sincere turning away from sin and turning toward God. The call to repentance is a consistent theme throughout the Bible, beginning with the prophets of the Old Testament and continuing through the ministry of John the Baptist, Jesus Christ, and the apostles.

Jesus Himself began His ministry with a call to repentance, as recorded in Matthew 4:17 : "From that time on Jesus began to preach, 'Repent, for the kingdom of heaven is near.'" The Apostle Peter, in his sermon on the day of Pentecost, emphasized the necessity of repentance for salvation. Then you will be able to discern what is the good, pleasing, and perfect will of God."
