1 And I turned and lifted up my eyes, and I looked, and behold, four chariots were coming forth from between two mountains; and the mountains were mountains of bronze. 2 With the first chariot were red horses, and with the second chariot black horses, 3 and with the third chariot white horses, and with the fourth chariot spotted horses—strong. 4 And I answered and said to the angel speaking with me, “What are these, my lord?” 5 And the angel answered and said to me, “These are the four spirits of the heavens going forth from the standing next to the Lord of all the earth. 6 The one with the black horses is going forth to the land of the north, and the white ones are going forth to the west, and the spotted ones are going forth to the land of the south.” 7 And the strong ones went forth, they sought to go about, going to and fro on the earth. And He said, “Go, walk up and down on the earth.” And they went to and fro on the earth. 8 And He called to me and spoke to me, saying: “See, those going forth to the land of the north have given rest to My Spirit in the land of the north.” 9 And the word of YHWH came to me, saying: 10 “Take from the captive, from Heldai, from Tobiah, and from Jedaiah (who have come from Babylon). And you will come on that day and go into the house of Josiah son of Zephaniah. 11 And you shall take silver and gold, and you shall make crowns. And you shall set them on the head of Joshua son of Jehozadak, the high priest, 12 and you shall speak to him, saying, thus says YHWH of Hosts, saying: ‘Behold, a man—the Branch is his name—and from underneath him, he will branch forth and will build the temple of YHWH. 13 And he will build the temple of YHWH, and it is he who will bear the splendor, and he will sit and rule upon his throne. And He will be a priest on His throne, and a counsel of peace will be between the two of them.’ Zechariah 6:1-13, Berean Literal Bible. Public domain.
