1 Therefore, there is now no condemnation for those who are in Christ (the Anointed One) Jesus [who do not walk according to the flesh but according to the Spirit]. 2 For in Christ (the Anointed One) Jesus (YHWH saves) the law of the Spirit {Pneumatos} of life set you [me] free from the law of sin and death. 3 For what the law was powerless to do in that it was weakened by the flesh, God did by sending His own Son in the likeness of sinful man, as an offering for sin \in the likeness of sinful flesh and for sin/. He thus condemned sin in the flesh, 4 so that the righteous standard of the law might be fulfilled in us, who do not walk according to the flesh but according to the Spirit {pneuma}. 5 Those who live according to the flesh set their minds on the things of the flesh; but those who live according to the Spirit {pneuma} set their minds on the things of the Spirit {pneumatos}. 6 The mind of the flesh is death, but the mind of the Spirit {pneumatos} is life and peace, 7 because the mind of the flesh is hostile to God {Theon}: It does not submit to God’s {Theou} law, nor can it do so. 8 Those controlled by the flesh \Those being in the flesh/ cannot please God {Theō}. 9 You⁺, however, are controlled not by the flesh, but by the Spirit {pneumati}, if the Spirit {Pneuma} of God {Theou} lives in you⁺. And if anyone does not have the Spirit of Christ (the Anointed One), he does not belong to Christ. 10 But if Christ (the Anointed One) is in you⁺, your body is dead because of sin, yet your spirit {pneuma} is alive (yet the Spirit is life) because of righteousness. 11 And if the Spirit {Pneuma} of Him who raised Jesus (YHWH saves) from the dead is living in you⁺, He who raised Christ (the Anointed One) Jesus from the dead [raised Christ from the dead] will also give life to your⁺ mortal bodies through His Spirit {Pneumatos}, who lives in you⁺. 12 Therefore, brothers (and sisters), we have an obligation, but it is not to the flesh, to live according to it. 13 For if you⁺ live according to the flesh, you⁺ will die; but if by the Spirit {pneumati} you⁺ put to death the deeds of the body, you⁺ will live. 14 For all who are led by the Spirit {Pneumati} of God {Theou} are sons of God. 15 For you⁺ did not receive a spirit {pneuma} of slavery that returns you to fear, but you⁺ received the Spirit of adoption to sonship, by whom we cry, “Abba! Father {Patēr}! 16 The Spirit {Pneuma} Himself testifies with our spirit {pneumati} that we are God’s {Theou} children. 17 And if we are children, then we are heirs: heirs of God {Theou} and co-heirs with Christ (the Anointed One)—if indeed we suffer with Him, so that we may also be glorified with Him. 18 I consider that our present sufferings are not comparable to the glory {doxan} that will be revealed (uncovered) in us. 19 The creation waits in eager expectation for the revelation of the sons of God {Theou}. 20 For the creation was subjected to futility, not by its own will, but because of the One who subjected it, in hope 21 that the creation itself will be set free from its bondage to decay and brought into the glorious freedom (liberty) of the children of God {Theou}.
